YOYO’S WORLD

The Film

Mattie Singleton and Zax Balmore

Yoyo (Zax Balmore) the main character is invited to a friend’s home to try chanting. However she arrives and quickly realizes that everyone is chanting while seated in chairs and not on the yoga mat she brought along. Still, she is ready to give it her all. She’s up for trying something new.

But instead of her shaking it up, the experience shakes her up. Quickly she tries to come up with a plan and decides to shake it up and give it the old college try at the same time. It becomes funny when she gets bitten by the chanting bug. But when she says, “I get it. I’m a Buddha too!”, will the group accept her? The only way to find out is to watch the film.

About YoYo

Hello, my name is YoYo, that is what my family and friends call me. But my real name is Sholanda Ballentine.

This is my website my film and television web series. I thank you for visiting, and I hope you like it.

As you know, I’m an actress, and I love pretending. But do you know what I love the most; I like to try new things. Sometimes I don’t know where my journey will take me, or how things may turn out. And that is the surprise that I like.

Well I hope you like trying new things. You never know…

The Making of…

YoYo’s World the Film was completed in September 2019, and will start to head in to it’s festival run starting in October 2019. As with all festivals, sometime it’s a crap shoot. But we feel deeply about the story and production value of this film. We think we got a winner.

As you may know, this film was shot entirely with just two “Smartphones.” We used, with our Cinematographer, Erdan Bell, two iPhones. One was an iPhone 7 and the other an iPhone 6. With a hand stabilizing rig and a tripod, we captured all our footage, and edited in Adobe Premiere. We hope you like our film.
